My May Ipsy Glam Bag and some discount codes!!

It's that time again!! I'm here with my May Ipsy Glam Bag.  I think this month was an okay month.  There are some products that I'm super excited about and some that are nice to have, but I wasn't dying to get.  So let's jump right into it (and don't forget to check out the discount codes on some of the items!)
A brand I really like is pur~lisse.  I learned about them from Ipsy and have liked all of the products I BB Tinted Moist Cream in Light.  It's supposed to be a primer, tinted moisturizer, foundation and sunscreen in one.  That's a lot of claims.  It is supposed to be very moisturizing and has Asian Herb extracts complex to sooth skin and create a glow.  Purlisse is giving 30% off any purchase with the code bbglam30. This product retails for $35 and the sample value that I received is $8.75.
have gotten from them.  They are a bit expensive so I love when I get get them for free.  This month I got the

I was super excited to receive the Urban Decay Afterglow in Sin as I am on the lookout
for the highlighters that will make my face pop.  Urban Decay claims that you will get a Snapchat filter glow with this finely milled powder that is supposed to last all day.  The full size product retails at $26 and the sample is valued at $9.

Next in the bag was the Pixi by Petra Endless Silky Eye Pen in BlackNoir.  This is a very smooth liner that glides on super easily.  It will smudge after application, but will dry down quickly and stays put until you wash it off. If you are interested in this or any other Pixi with code PixiIpsyMay.  The full size is $6 and this sample appears to be full size.
items you can get 25% off any purchase at

Also in the bag this month was the Hempz Pomegranate Herbal Body Moisturizer. I don't think I've used a lotion with hemp seed oil.
It is supposed to be very moisturize due to the amino fatty acids it contains.  It has a very light scent so it won't overpower any perfume you want to wear.  The full size is $26 and the sample has a value of $3.

Last in the bag was that Luxie Dreamcatcher Precision Foundation Brush 660. Luxie Brushes with code IPSY660.  This brush retails for $23. While it claims to be good for liquids, creams and powders, I am hesitant to use it with liquids.  I'll be sticking with powders with this super fluffy vegan and cruelty free brush.  If you are looking for this or other brushes you can get 30% off

So this month, my $10 investment got me just under $50 of products.  If you are looking to sign up or learn more, be sure to check out Ipsy. :-)

Keep your skin beautiful and healthy with sunscreen

As the weather gets nicer we need to start thinking more about sunscreen.  While we should be wearing sunscreen all year, it is especially important when the sun's rays get more direct during the spring and summer.  There are literally hundreds of different types and brands of sunscreen out there, but here are just a few that come highly recommended.

Coola Organic Makeup Setting Spray is a double duty product.  It both a setting spray and a sunscreen in one.  It has cucumber and aloe to soothe skin, hyaluronic acid for hydration and SPF 30 for skin protection.  Plus the spray bottle makes it easy to apply and touch up every few hours.

You might not always need to worry about setting your makeup, especially if you are the active type.  If this is you, then the Neutrogena CoolDry Sport Sunscreen Stick is for you.  In addition to the SPF 50 it has a property that allows sweat to evaporate so you stay cool.  Neutrogena sunscreen also contains Helioplex technology which is considered the gold standard of broad-spectrum protection.  Being in a stick form is super convenient so you won't be bothered when you have to reapply (which you should do every 80 minutes of activity), plus it won't drip into your eyes when you sweat.

If you are looking for a sunscreen that also provides some skin loving ingredients then the Dr. Jart+ Every Sun Day UV Sun Fluid is worth a try.  Not only does it have SPF 30 to block out damaging UV rays, but it also keeps the microscopic particles in pollution from
coming into contact with your skin.  This one is especially good if you are darker skin as it doesn't leave a white residue making your look ghostly.

My last two options are drugstore options.  One for those who like a spray and one for those who like a lotion.  The Australian Gold X-Treme Sport is a spray gel with SPF 50.  The spray makes it easy to apply and the gel formula clings to your skin and isn't runny.  Banana Boat SunComfort Lotion is another skin clinger and it has SPF 50+.  It also adds a little hydration to your skin.  As a bonus it lasts up to 80 minutes in the water.

My April Ipsy Glam Bag - what I got and discount codes (of course!)

My April Ipsy Glam Bag came in and of course I had t share what I got.  Spoiler alert: I don't know if this is my favorite bag, but they all can't be winners can they?

The first thing I pulled out of my bag was the OFRA Cosmetics Rendezvous Blush.  It's a long wearing powder blush that can be used wet or dry.  This specific color is a little darker than my normal blushes, so I OFRA website you can get 30% off your total purchase with the code Ipsy30.
think it might work as an eyeshadow or bronzer.  It came full size which is 4g and it retails for $15.  IF you head over to the

Next in the bag (or actually out of the bag because it was a little big to fit in the bag) was the Luseta BeautyVolume Reviving Dry Shampoo in Potpourri.  It has a nice floral scent that isn't too strong.  Corn starch is the main ingredient and while it absorbs oil it leaves your hair semi-matte and gives it some texture.  What's even better, it doesn't leave any white residue which is great for my dark hair!  You can get this and any other items from Luseta Beauty for 15% off with the code IPSY152017.  The full size is $16 for 8.5oz which gives this sample a value of $3.18.

I was interested to try the Ciaté London Mini Bamboo Bronzer in Star Island or Palm Island that came in the bag.  I have heard much about the brand and wanted to see what it was like for myself.  I like that it also has oil-controlling ingredients in it as well as amaranth and sunflower extract to help soothe and smooth skin while absorbing oil.  The code IPSTER will get you 30% off any Ciaté products.  The sample value is $6.15 which comes from the full 10g size being sold for $28.

To be honest, I was a little disappointed to see the Jesse's Girl Black Liquid Eyeliner in the bag.  I don't have much luck with liquid liner, a quick try with this one gave me the impression I might be able to have some success with it.  It also dries very quickly and lasts a long time.  The full size is 5mL and is only $6.99.  The same came in with a value of $1.40.  Plus if you use code IPSY2017APR you will get 20% off the whole site!

I was pleased to see the Eau Thermale Avène Rich Compensating Cream in the bag as I can always use a moisturizer.  This one has some really good ingredients in it (antioxidants, ceramides, plant sterols and fatty acids) to help lock in moisture and protect from free radicals.  You can get 20% this and the rest of the Eau Thermale Avène line at B-Glowing with the code Ipsy20.  This is an expensive cream running $45 for 50ml.  The same is valued at $4.50.

I can't say it was a terrible bag as I did get over $30 in products for only $10, but it still wasn't my favorite bag both in the actual bag and the contents.  Still, I encourage you to check out Ipsy as I really enjoy most bags each month.
