Beauty Uses for Olive Oil

A recent trend in beauty is natural products.  I see so many companies promoting a revamped version of their previous products with "natural" ingredients.  Recently, Influenster sent me a bottle of Filippo Berio olive oil and asked me for my thoughts.  Of course, I was not swayed by a free bottle of olive oil, but I actually did end up liking it.  I had the Robusto version, so the taste was a bit strong at first, but then it grew on me.   I started thinking about how else I could use olive oil and this whole "natural products" thing came to mind.  I did some research and came across a bunch of different way to use olive oil in your beauty routine.  Here are just a few of the the ones I liked.
  • moisturizer - apply with a cotton ball or cotton pad and it really seals in the moisture
  • great makeup remover - especially for hard to get off makeup like waterproof mascara
  • soothe irritated skin - add some oil to a warm bath and just relax (a half a cup should do)
  • replacement for shaving cream - rub a thin coat on your legs before you start shaving
  • lip scrub - add some sugar to a small bit of oil and scrub it on your lips
  • tame flyaways - take a SMALL amount of oil and rub it between your hands and lightly rub your head, you don't want too much or it will make your hair oily and don't want to rub to hard or you'll create more flyaways
  • dry hand/feet treatment - after exfoliating, put a thin coat of oil on your feet or hand and cover with socks or glove, leave it on overnight
  • eye "cream" - a small amount on a cotton ball will bring just the right amount of moisture to the under eye area
  • dry scalp treatment - take a small amount of oil and rub it into your scalp, wash well afterwards so you don't end up with oily hair around your scalp
  • stretch mark treatment - rub some oil over the skin three times a week, it should help keep the skin supple so stretch marks are reduced
  • removes paint from hair - take a cotton ball with oil on it and rub it over the dried paint in your hair, it should help loosen the bond and release the paint from your hair

What are some ways that you use olive oil?

While I received this bottle of olive oil for free from Influenster, my opinions are 100% my own.  Affiliate links are used in this post.
