Sephora is not a place for cheap makeup, but some products are just ridiculously expensive. Here are the most expensive makeup products at Sephora. Let's go through the makeup you'll need to do a full face.
Starting with foundation, we'll use the
La Mer Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation. This medium coverage foundation claims to be " long-wearing, natural, flexible coverage makes pores and imperfections virtually disappear." At $120 I do hope it's all that is says it is. Being that is comes in a 1oz bottle, this foundation is $120 an once. Compare this to Maybeline foundations that run between $9 and 12 an ounce.
To help you with your capitation you can use the $120
Surratt Beauty Artistique Sculpting Brush. Sephora used to carry the $250 Artistique Face Brush, but it's no longer on their website. This angled brush is made from natural hair and "is crafted from hand-tied natural fibers by a skilled artisan."
Now lets add some color to your cheeks with the
Tom Ford Soleil Eye and Cheek Palette ($155). According to Sephora.com, this palette is "the ultimate Tom Ford Soleil accessory. This reflective ivory-and-gold-colored clutch contains a color palette for eyes and cheeks that lets you create an array of luxurious looks. It features four eyeshadows, a highlighter, and a blush in two color waves: sultry, bronzed warm hues, and sweet, incandescent cool shades." There are two colorways to choose from and while it is nice $155 is pricey.
Now you'll need to move on to your eyes, you can turn to the
Natasha Denona Eyeshadow Palette 28. At a price of $239 you have two choices to add some sparkle: Purple Blue and Green Brown. Sephora.com says that "the palette features an array of ultra-pigmented, unique shades and finishes. The revolutionary formula is smooth to the touch so that eye color glides seamlessly onto your lids while providing vivid color payoff with a silky-soft feel." With a total of 70g, palette is $3.41 a gram! Let's compare this to a an Elf palette (which in my opinion is high quality at a low price). The Elf palette is $0.77 a gram.
Eyeliner is the next step to making your eyes pop. You can use this super fancy liquid eyeliner from
Christian Louboutin Luminous Ink Liner. It claims to be "highly pigmented ink to give eyes a glossy sheen." It also won't smudge or smear and last all day. At $75 this makes this eyeliner almost $19 a milliliter. As a comparison, Covergirl liquid eyeliner is about $4.25 a milliliter.
Now that your eyes and cheeks are done, you'll want some lashes to step up the look. You can choose from the 10 pairs of lashes in the
Velour Lashes Lash Vanity. The whole set is $270 which is $27 per pair. Compare this to Ardelle Lashes which come in at about $4 a pair. This set includes a full-size Lash Adhesive, Too Easy Lash Applicator, and a removable, light-up mirror with a spacious storage area.
Lastly let's add some lip color. The
Christian Louboutin Silky Satin Lip Colour is $90. If satin isn't your thing you can also get it in a sheer or matte formula. It claims to be long lasting and a "unique blend of ultra-fine color pigments express deep and generous color with a silky satin finish. Formulated with a complex of natural oils and seed butters, it enhances moisture for up to four hours and creates a protective effect against dryness." It is $692 on ounce! Compare this to a long lasting L'Oreal lipstick which is $52 an ounce.
At end of the day you'll need to remove all of this makeup. You have such luxury on your face so you don't want to remove it with just anything. You'll want the
Erno Laszlo White Marble Cleansing Oil. It's a "gentle, luxurious cleansing oil that dissolves surface impurities and visibly tightens pores." At $68 it breaks down to $10 an ounce. Compare this to the Bert's Bees cleansing oil which is less than $3 an ounce.
